I have collected and exchanged business cards from many people for years because I needed to stay connected for various reasons. On each card I would write the date, place, and reason for the exchange. As soon as I got to my desk or computer, I would type in the information. Well, you can guess how accessible that information would be to me! The neatly typed information and my need of it was rarely accessible. That did not stop me from trying to keep these valuable contacts. The next great tool was the smart phone. I would take pictures of the business cards, which worked for the first 10 or so. Those cards got lost in my phone since, I could not search for them by anything other than a date.
Finally as I fast forward to my newest tool, my sister introduced me to the CamCard Reader. https://www.camcard.com/user/guide?from_source=camcard Since I have been using this neat app, I can keep up with my contacts on any device, search, update, share, and see the original card. It's a handy app that is free with the option to upgrade to the professional version. It's simple to use. Once it's downloaded, click, touch, or tap the icon on your phone. The camera will pop up and it needs to be turned sideways/landscape. Snap the picture, correct any information that may be garbled, and store/save your new contact.
One of the most valuable features of CamCard is the ability to create notes about the contact. There have been many times that I wanted to know why I kept the card and was clueless. Having the notes help to jog my memory and add new information about that contact. My cards are not only organized but synchronized and available on demand!
Hi Patt,
ReplyDeleteI wasn't aware of the CamCard, thanks so much for sharing. How convenient and brilliant for someone to have invented this. I am sure this will come in use for graduates like myself who will be starting our careers soon and networking with various people.
Hi Winnie,
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. I do believe it will be helpful to you throughout your graduation process. The program allows for pictures, notes, and location. I'm glad the information was useful, and, congratulations!
